Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identity / Branding / Collateral Production (x students)
  • exhibition name (coordinate class votes as necessary)
  • develop visual identity for exhibition (graphic style and typography) (coordinate class votes as necessary)
      • develop graphic for online exhibition landing page
      • WORK IN BEGINNING OF SEMESTER TO MEET PRINT DEADLINE
  • Marketing / Social Media / Outreach (x students)
  • coordinate with Agency X
  • create schedule for marketing campaign
  • prepare press release based on provided template
  • prepare marketing copy
  • collect images from whole class for social media posting
      • develop graphics as needed for email blast/social media based 
      • submit promotional materials for Daily Digest / departmental email / departmental newsletter / and other outlets as defined by the committee
  • organize group photo
      • prepare physical flyers
      • WORK IN MARCH – AFTER BRANDING IS COMPLETE BUT BEFORE SHOW
  • Website (x students)
  • upload videos for the exhibition website with description information to UConn DMD Vimeo account
  • file checking, review that files are labeled correctly for upload
      • copy edit the website and check that links are all working
      • Prepare materials for exhibition announcement on dmd.uconn.edu and coordinate with Wanda for posting
      • WORK IN MARCH – AFTER STUDENTS MATERIALS ARE SUBMITTED BUT BEFORE SHOW
  • Screening / Installation (x students)
  • compile videos for screening event
  • opening title slate/motion graphic for individual projects based on visual identity
  • generate opening graphics for entire screening based on visual identity 
      • assist with installation of pieces (each individual student is responsible for their own piece but committee should assist)
      • WORK IS TWO DAYS PRIOR TO OPENING TO INSTALL + 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO OPENING TO EDIT REEL
  • Documentation (night of event / professional photos during April, etc.) (x students) 
  • Videotaping the opening day
    • Make a document video
    • WORK IS NIGHT OF OPENING TO END OF SEMESTER TO CREATE VIDEO / PHOTOS OF SHOW
